The whole theme of the Doctrine of the Mean is to be sincere and fulfill one’s nature. Only those who are sincere can fulfill their nature and realize their nature. If all people can realize their nature and be kind and benevolent in all aspects of society, the nature of all things can also be realized. If people can develop a heart of kindness, love all things by loving the people and cherishing all things, they can support the work of the transformation of heaven and earth. Human beings are the spirits of all things, and can use their wisdom and abilities to give all things in nature a proper chance to survive. People can be one with heaven and earth and the earth. This Confucian realm of thought of extreme and beauty is worth everyone’s pursuit and unremitting efforts.
至诚尽性是中庸全篇主旨所在。只有至诚者能尽其本性，实现其本性，一切人都能实现其本性，为仁善行表现在社会各个方面，则万物的天性也可以得到实现了。人如果能发扬向善之心，由仁民爱民而爱万物，珍惜万物，就可以赞助天地的化育之功。人类为万物之灵，可以以其智慧及能力让大自然中的万物得到适当的生存机会。人可以与天地并地而为三。儒家这种致极、致美的思想境界值得每个人去追求，为之而不懈努力。
中庸·二十二
唯天下至诚，为能尽其性；能尽其性，则能尽人之性；能尽人之性，则能尽物之性；能尽物之性，则可以赞天地之化育；可以赞天地之化育，则可以与天地参矣。

It is only he, in the world, who possesses absolute truth, who can get to the bottom of the law of his being. He who is able to get to the bottom of the law of his being, will be able to get to the bottom of the law of being of other men. He who is able to get to the bottom of the law of being of men, will be able to get to the bottom of the laws of physical nature. He who is able to get to the bottom of the laws of physical nature, will be able to influence the forces of creation of the Universe. He who can influence the forces of creation of the Universe, is one with the Powers of the Universe.
