Li Bai (701-December 762), whose name was Taibai, was named Qinglianjushi, also known as “The Immortal”. A great romantic poet in the Tang Dynasty, he was hailed as “The Immortal of Poetry” by future generations, and he was called “The Immortal of Poetry” together with Du Fu.
子夜吴歌
（冬歌）
明朝驿使[1]发，
一夜絮征袍。
素手[2]抽针冷，
那堪把剪刀！
裁缝寄远道，
几日到临洮[3]？
《冬歌》采用的是另一种写法。没有景物描写，代以叙事。事件被安排在一个有意味的时刻——传送征衣的驿使即将出发的前夜，大大增强了此诗的情节性和戏剧味。此诗的中心围绕着一个矛盾展开，天气寒冷，“素手抽针冷，那堪把剪刀”，而驿使明天就要出发，时间太紧迫，由此看来，诗中女子是想多些时间将征袍细细做来的，但又想到“裁缝寄远道，几日到临洮”，又恨不得马上完成，好让驿使赶紧出发。这种矛盾，塑造出一个活生生的思妇形象，成功表达了诗歌的主题。

Ballads of Four Seasons
(Winter)
The courier will depart next day,she’s told,
She sews a warrior’s gown all night.
Her fingers feel the needle cold.
How can she hold the scissors tight?
The work is done,she sends it far away.
When will it reach the town where warriors stay?
“Winter Song” adopts another writing style. There is no description of scenery, but narrative instead. The event is arranged at a meaningful moment – the night before the postman who delivers the military uniform is about to set off, which greatly enhances the plot and drama of the poem. The center of the poem revolves around a contradiction. The weather is cold, “the bare hands are cold when pulling out the needle, how can they hold the scissors”, and the postman is leaving tomorrow, and the time is too tight. From this, it can be seen that the woman in the poem wants more time to make the military uniform carefully, but thinking that “the tailor will send it far away, and it will take a few days to reach Lintao”, she can’t wait to finish it immediately so that the postman can set off quickly. This contradiction creates a vivid image of a woman missing her husband and successfully expresses the theme of the poem.
