Early experiences
Jolin Tsai, whose real name is Jolin Tsai and former name is Yiling Tsai, was born in Tong’an District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, on September 15, 1980 in Xinzhuang City, Taipei County, Taiwan, China, China (now Xinzhuang District, Xinbei City). Jolin Tsai ranks second in his family. He has an elder sister, Cai Minwen, and his father, Cai Zhuchen, was engaged in accounting work; Mother Huang Chunmei is low-key and rarely appears in front of the media. She has been volunteering at Taipei Hospital for ten years.
Jolin Tsai graduated from Jingmei Girls’ High School and was admitted to the English Department of Fu Jen Catholic University through recommendation. She was classmates with singer Zhan Wenting. In high school, Jolin Tsai formed a band called “Twister”, but because the musicians she collaborated with were not very strong, every performance was either rushed or delayed, which made Jolin Tsai, as the lead singer, feel useless.
In April 1998, Jolin Tsai, who was still studying at Jingmei Girls’ High School, participated in the “Freshman Card Battle” music competition organized by MTV Music Channel with the recommendation of her school and classmates. She stood out from 20000 people and defeated more than 3000 contestants in just two months. Jolin Tsai also advanced multiple times in the competition with songs by singers such as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and won the championship in the finals with her song “Greatest Love Of All”;
In May, she entered the Department of Foreign Languages at Fu Jen Catholic University with the highest score in the entrance examination.
Jolin Tsai is Taiwanese Golden Melody Award-winning Mandopop singer, dancer and actor. Tsai’s foray into the entertainment industry started with an MTV singing competition. She was signed on by Universal Music and released her first album Jolin 1019, which was sold for 400,000 copies. By now, more than 23 million copies of her albums have been sold in Asia. Her new album Myself was published this year, and she was involved in many commercial activities and advertisements. Her income reached 53.95 million yuan (US$8.34 million) in the assessment period.

Jay Chou and Jolin Tsai had a subtle change in their relationship due to work reasons, and were known as a golden couple in the music industry, but the two did not admit it. At the end of July 2013, Jolin Tsai admitted for the first time in an interview that she had an old relationship with Jay Chou and revealed the reason for their breakup. She admitted that it had passed and the two were friends.
