Send Off Judge Pei Tan to Shuzhou, While Du Mu Returns to the Capital As a Government Official

Xuan Zhou Song Pei Tan Pan Guan Wang Shu Zhou Shi Mu
Yu Fu Guan Gui Jing

Ri nuan ni rong xue ban xiao
Xing ren fang cao ma sheng jiao.
Jiu hua shan lu yun zhe si
Qing yi jiang cun liu fu qiao.

Jun yi ru hong gao di di
Wo xin xuan pei zheng yao yao
Tong lai bu dei tong gui qu
Gu guo feng chun yi ji liao.

From Xuanzhou, Send Off Judge Pei Tan to Shuzhou, While Du Mu Returns to the Capital As a Government Official

Warm days, mud and half-melted snow
Travelers proud, their horses neigh for the fragrant grasses.
Cloud-hidden temple paths on Mt. Jiuhua
Yi River village, young willow trees touch the bridges.

You expect to fly high like the cranes
My heart-mind wavers like a hanging pennant.
We arrive here together, but depart separately
Next spring’s visit to my hometown will be lonely and solitary.
