送友人
青山横北郭[1]，
白水[2]绕东城。
此地一为别，
孤蓬[3]万里征。
浮云游子意，
落日故人情。
挥手自兹去，
萧萧[4]班马[5]鸣。
这是一首充满诗情画意的送别诗。第一联“青山”对“白水”，静态的“横”对动态的“绕”，“北郭”又对“东城”，对仗工丽，别开生面。第二联说友人就要像蓬草一样漂泊万里了，离情依依。第三联“浮云”象征友人行踪不定，“落日”徐徐西下，暗示诗人不忍离别之心；青山绿水，白云红日，色彩绚丽，富有画意。第四联“挥手”又以动态入画，“萧萧”马鸣之声入耳，更是有声有色，余音久久不绝。这首五言律诗有景有情，情景交融，扣人心弦。

Farewell to a Friend
Green mountains bar the northern sky;
White water girds the eastern town.
Here is the place to say goodbye,
You’ll drift out,lonely thistledown.
Like floating cloud you’ll float away;
With parting day I’ll part from you.
We wave and you start on your way,
Your horse still neighs:“Adieu!Adieu!”
This is a farewell poem full of poetic and picturesque meanings. In the first couplet, “green mountains” are matched with “white water”, the static “horizontal” is matched with the dynamic “winding”, and “Northern Guo” is matched with “Eastern City”, which is beautifully parallel and unique. In the second couplet, the friend will drift thousands of miles like a weed, and the parting feeling is reluctant. In the third couplet, “floating clouds” symbolize the friend’s uncertain whereabouts, and “sunset” slowly sets in the west, implying that the poet is reluctant to leave; green mountains, green waters, white clouds and red sun are colorful and full of artistic meaning. In the fourth couplet, “waving” is also a dynamic painting, and the sound of “Xiaoxiao” horses is heard, which is even more vivid and colorful, and the lingering sound lasts for a long time. This five-character regulated verse has both scenery and emotion, and the scene and emotion blend together, which is very touching.
