Li Bai (701–762), also known as Li Po, was a Chinese poet living during the Tang Dynasty.
鲁郡东石门[1]送杜二甫[2]
醉别复几日，
登临遍池台。
何时石门路，
重有金樽开？
秋波落泗水[3]，
海色明徂徕[4]。
飞蓬[5]各自远，
且尽手中杯。
公元744年，李白与杜甫相识，两人一见如故。公元745年，李杜重逢，同游齐鲁。深秋，杜甫西去长安，李白再游江东，两人在鲁郡东石门分手，故有此篇。没有几天便要分别，不多的时间，用来痛饮，亭台楼阁都游览遍了，再也找不到留下的理由，不知何时能重聚，杜甫也说“何时一樽酒，重与细论文”，字里行间充满了两位大诗人惺惺相惜的不舍之情。徂徕泗水，秋色连波。在如诗如画的背景中，两位有着深厚情谊的友人似有千言万语，无尽的友谊化作一杯甘醇，结尾简洁干练，言有尽而意无穷。

Farewell to Du Fu at Stone Gate[1]
Before we part we’ve drunk for many days
And visit’d all the scenic spots and bays.
When at the Gate of Stone shall we meet and drain
Our brimming golden cups of wine again?
The autumn waves of River Si still flow;
The seaside mountains stand in morning glow.
You’ll go away as thistle-down will fly,
So let us fill our cups and drink them dry.

In 744 AD, Li Bai and Du Fu met and they hit it off right away. In 745 AD, Li Bai and Du Fu met again and traveled together in Qi and Lu. In late autumn, Du Fu went west to Chang’an, and Li Bai traveled to Jiangdong again. The two parted at Dongshimen in Lu County, so this poem was written. They had to part in a few days. They had a short time to drink and visit all the pavilions and towers. They could no longer find a reason to stay. They didn’t know when they would meet again. Du Fu also said, “When will we have a bottle of wine and discuss the paper again in detail?” The words were full of the reluctance of the two great poets to appreciate each other. The autumn colors of the Si River in Qulai are connected. In the poetic and picturesque background, the two friends with deep friendship seem to have thousands of words to say, and the endless friendship turns into a cup of sweet wine. The ending is concise and capable, and the words are finite but the meaning is infinite.
