“Frosty Day and Morning Horns·Title on Caishi Eyebrow Pavilion” is a poem written by Han Yuanji in the Southern Song Dynasty. The first stanza of the poem is mainly about describing the scenery, and the emotions are born from the scenery; the second stanza is mainly about expressing emotions, and the emotions and scenery are integrated. The poem begins and ends with a description of the scenery; emotional words are frequently interspersed in the middle. But both the scenery and emotional words are very interesting. Although the poem is named as a poem about mountains and rivers, it contains the author’s feelings about the current situation and reveals his infinite love for the country’s rivers and mountains and history. It has always been regarded as a famous poem about Caishiji.

A frowning cliff against the sky
Commands the river from a thousand feet high.
On the two far-off browlike peaks with green congealed,
How much grief is revealed?
Can we express
It in excess?
Over angry waves swift blows wind drear;
Awake from wine, I hear flute songs from the frontier.
May I know where is the poet divine?
Beyond the green hills in a line,
Where mist and cloud combine.
