A Song As Zhiti Departs From Hubei

Jiang Xia Bie Song Zhi Ti

Chu shui qing ruo kong
Yao jiang bi hai tong.
Ren fen qian li wai
Xing zai yi bei zhong.

Gu niao yin qing ri
Jiang yuan xiao wan feng.
Ping sheng bu xia lei
Yu ci qi wu qiong.

A Song As Zhiti Departs From Hubei

Han River past Chu Shui clear like the sky
Flows far away to the open, bluish-green ocean.
After separating we will be hundreds of miles apart
In each cup of wine, emotions begin.

Valley cuckoo birds chant to the fine weather
River monkeys howl, call out to the wind.
All my life teardrops do not fall
But today they flow without let up.

Notes:

Han River:  A major tributary to the Changjiang located in Hubei Province.

Chu Shui: A region that includes the provinces of Anhui and Jiangsu.
