“Night at Zhenglu Pavilion” is a five-character quatrain written by Li Bai, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty. The poet uses fluent language and vivid metaphors to vividly describe the night scene of the river from Zhenglu Pavilion (in present-day Nanjing) to Guangling (in present-day Yangzhou), expressing the poet’s love for the mountains and rivers of the motherland and his joy of traveling. The language of the whole poem is like words, the artistic conception is like a painting, and the description of the objective scenery is vivid and lifelike, reflecting the author’s superb ability to control language.
