“Looking at Qinchuan” is a work by Tang Dynasty poet Li Qi. This poem was written when the poet was about to leave Chang’an for Dongchuan and looked at Qinchuan. It depicts the clear and broad autumn scenery of mountains and rivers in Chang’an with bright colors and simple brushstrokes. The scenery described in the first four sentences is bright and magnificent, reflecting the author’s nostalgia and reluctance to leave the life in the capital; the scenery described in the last four sentences is bleak and cold, reflecting the author’s melancholy and desolate feelings on the way to the official. Mountains and streams spread far and near;
