晚晴
深居俯夹城[1]，
春去夏犹清。
天意怜幽草，
人间重晚晴。
并添高阁迥，
微注[2]小窗明。
越鸟[3]巢干后，
归飞体更轻。

A Sunny Evening after Rain
I look down on town wall from my retreat;
With spring just gone,summer weather is clear.
It’s Heaven’s will to pity green grass sweet;
In human world sunny evening’s held dear.
I can see afar from my tower high;
The parting rays make my small window bright.
The Southern birds find their nest again dry;
When they fly back,they feel their bodies light.
This poem expresses the poet’s joyful mood through the feeling of seeing the bright sun after the rain in Jiacheng. The writing is bright and the emotions are delicate. In particular, the second couplet “Heaven has pity on the grass, and the world values the late sunshine” is profound and thought-provoking, and has been passed down from generation to generation.
