In the first year of Jingning, Huhanye Chanyu returned to the court and said that he wanted to marry a Han woman to make himself closer. Emperor Yuan gave the Chanyu a daughter of a good family, Wang Qiang, whose courtesy name was Zhaojun, and she was given the title of Ninghu Yanshi. This was because he expressed his feelings by relying on Zhaojun, and he was deeply disgusted with people like Mao Yanshou who confused beauty and ugliness, concealed the virtuous and deceived the emperor.
竟宁元年，呼韩邪单于复入朝，自言愿婿汉氏以自亲。元帝以后宫良家子王嫱字昭君赐单于而归，号宁胡阏氏。此托昭君以致慨，深疾如毛延寿之颠倒妍媸、蔽贤欺君者。
