“Seeing Off a Friend at Yishui” is a five-character poem written by Tang Dynasty poet Luo Binwang. This poem describes the author’s feelings when seeing off a friend at Yishui, and uses history to illustrate the present. The first two sentences describe the place where the poet saw off his friend by reciting the past; the last two sentences express the poet’s feelings of nostalgia for the past and sadness for the present. The whole poem has profound meaning and a desolate tone.
