春寒恻恻[1]掩重门，
金鸭[2]香残火尚温。
燕子不来花又落，
一庭风雨自黄昏。

[2]金鸭：用黄金制造的鸭形香炉。
Spring Grief
Zhao Mengfu
I close the double door when spring is drear and chill;
The incense burned, the golden censer is warm still.
The swallows will not come when again fall the flowers;
The courtyard thick with dusk is full of wind and showers.
这是一首低吟春愁的小诗。作品寓情于景，通过一系列清冷寂寞的环境景物描写，从中自然流露出作者心境的孤寂与凄恻。作品虽然以抒情为目的，却丝毫也不涉及心理的倾诉或客观的议论。作者的全部情绪，都通过景物的选择与渲染表现出来。情在景中，景即是情，景随情生，情景交融，具有相当的感染力。
This is a short poem about the melancholy of spring. The work expresses emotion through scenery. Through a series of descriptions of cold and lonely environments, the loneliness and sadness of the author’s mood are naturally revealed. Although the work is intended to express emotion, it does not involve psychological confession or objective discussion at all. All the author’s emotions are expressed through the selection and rendering of scenery. Emotion is in the scenery, and the scenery is the emotion. The scenery is born with the emotion, and the emotion and the scenery blend together, which is quite infectious.
