Wen Zhengming Poem: The Lake of Stone –

The Lake of Stone

Wen Zhengming

The mist on Lake of Stone blends with the waves in view;

A riot of birds’ songs break blooming flowers’ dream.

Fragrant grass grows on hills with tea trees drenched in dew;

A painted bridge across the Southern Beauty’s Stream.

The cool breeze gently ripples duckweed far and near;

The bygones lie beyond the sunset in the west.

On autumn waves again sinks the moon as last year;

A broken heart should not sing “the Crow in the Nest”.[1]

注释:

[1]The poet was broken-hearted because he was not at home while the crow was in its nest.
