Introduction
“A City” is a youth love movie adapted from Han Han’s novel of the same name, directed by Sun Bohan, and starring Jaycee Chan, Wang Taili, Huang Zongyi, Liu Yue, Xie Fang, Yang Di, etc. The film was released in mainland China on September 18, 2013.
The film tells the story of Lin Xi, who dropped out of school, and fled from Shanghai to a town with his friend Jian Shu because of a gang fight. Jian Shu and Lin Xi lived in the Yangtze River Hotel and wandered around the city all day. Later, they met a new friend Wang Chao, and the three of them started a journey.
Plot
Because the computer in the dormitory was paralyzed by virus, “I”, as a college student, met Uncle Jian, a senior who was good at repairing computers. After that, we had the idea of starting a business, but we took a crooked approach and ended up being expelled from school. Uncle Jian and I were idle, and after trying various ways to make money, we all failed.
Then we hired elementary school classmates to help fight in a group fight, and one of us was killed in the melee. This scene scared us so much that we ran away. We were afraid of getting involved in a murder case and simply fled to another city to avoid the limelight. There, Uncle Jian was injured one after another and looked like a semi-disabled person. We also met Wang Chao, who was a little “stupid” but very righteous, and Axiong, a psychopath who majored in art; I was often disturbed by nightmares of being interrogated by the government. A year of escape life seemed like a dream.
