用冰冷的扳手,
把一颗生锈的螺丝钉拧下,
它躺在师傅那宽厚的手上。

真的无法避开
师傅含蓄的目光。
那颗螺丝钉,
像我的心脏,
由于害怕,
在师傅的手掌上微微跳荡。

我得承认,
它是被腐蚀而生锈。
螺丝钉也会胡思乱想,
它没有能够
很好地闪光。

等待判决的螺丝钉,
它的师傅正看着前方
前方是废品箱,
我得被抛弃,
还是被擦洗后重新拧到原来的地方

The Tale of a Bolt
Liang Xiaobin

With an icecold spanner
The rusty bolt is undone.
And there it lies on the mechanic’s broad palm.

There’s really no evading
The mechanic’s inscrutable gaze.
The bolt,
In sympathy with my heart,
Trembles fearfully
On the man’s palm.

I must confess
Corrosion has caused rust.
Even bolts are liable to confusion;
This one failed
To shine as expected.

The bolt awaits its verdict.
The mechanic looks squarely ahead.
Ahead lies a scrap-bin.
Shall I be cast away?
Or restored after a thorough cleansing?
