Chapter 1 Introduction
I like history and the people and things of the past. In the long river of history, there are too many things worthy of us to go back. Twenty years after my first encounter with history, I started writing, I wrote the following words for myself and people who love history.
It took me six months to conceive the book, which mainly telling some things about the Ming Dynasty from 1344 to 1644. Based on historical data, the book focused on the age and specific characters. There are novel-like writing techniques in the book, as well as psychoanalysis of the characters and evaluation of the political and economic system of the time.
It is worthy noting that this book is a description of formal history and the source of information comes from more than 20 kinds of historical materials and notes, including “Ming Authentic Records”, “Ming Tong Jian”, “Ming History”, “The Major Events of Ming History”, etc. Although many descriptions and expressions of popular literature are used, but most of the historical events and characters in the book, even the dialogue of the characters has historical sources. For the sake of the fluency, the sources is not listed separately.
Since I read too much books written by pedants in the early years, I hate convoluted articles. In fact, history itself is very exciting and all history can be written very well. I hope I can do it.
In fact, I don’t know what genre I am writing. It is neither a novel nor a history book, but in my opinion, it doesn’t matter.
What I want to write is a book that makes history easily to understand.
