Wang Rong (466-493), courtesy name Yuanchang, was a native of Linyi, Langya (now Linyi, Shandong). He was a writer of the Southern Qi Dynasty, the sixth-generation grandson of Wang Dao, the prime minister of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and the son of Wang Daoyan, the internal historian of Luling in the Liu Song Dynasty. He was extremely intelligent, well-versed in ancient books, and had great literary talent. He passed the imperial examination at a young age and entered the court of Xiao Ziliang, the King of Jingling. He was listed as one of the Eight Friends of Jingling and was highly appreciated. He was successively promoted to the position of Prince’s Sheren and concurrently served as the Minister of State Affairs, receiving envoys from the Northern Wei Dynasty. He was promoted to the position of Minister of the Secretariat and was granted the title of General Ningshuo. After the death of Emperor Wu of Qi, he participated in Xiao Ziliang’s campaign to seize the throne, but was killed when the campaign failed.
王融（466～493年），字元长，琅琊临沂（今山东临沂市）人。南朝齐文学家，东晋宰相王导六世孙，刘宋庐陵内史王道琰之子。聪慧过人，博涉古籍，富有文才。少举秀才，进入竟陵王萧子良幕府，名列竟陵八友之一，极受赏识。累迁太子舍人，兼任主客郎中，接待北魏使者。迁中书侍郎，授宁朔将军。齐武帝去世后，参与萧子良夺嫡活动，事败被杀。
