Mulan: Little Hibiscus “is a poem written by Wei Chengban, a poet of the late Tang and Five Dynasties. The entire poem consists of 26 words in the first section and 28 words in the second section, depicting the lovesickness of a beautiful woman.

In the jade hall, her feelings are like the deepest water.
She shuts away her make-up case.
She closes fast the golden door.
By the screen, her sleeves trail loose in her dazed grief.
Across the scene, mists linger over the beautiful flowers.
On a winding islet, mandarin ducks doze in brocaded wings.
She mournfully stares far away, her quiet thoughts of him.
The flowery patches on her cheeks crumple with her sorrow.
