薛昂夫，元代散曲家。回鹘（即今维吾尔族）人。原名薛超吾，以第一字为姓。先世内迁，居怀孟路（治所在今河南沁阳）。祖、父皆封覃国公。汉姓马，又字九皋，故亦称马昂夫、马九皋。曾执弟子礼于宋遗民刘辰翁门下，约可推知他生年约在元初至元年间。历官江西省令史，佥典瑞院事、太平路总管、衢州路总管等职。晚年辞官隐居杭州皋亭山一带。善篆书，有诗名，与萨都剌有唱和。散曲现存小令六十五首、套数三套。
Xue Angfu, a prose composer of the Yuan Dynasty. The Uyghur people (now Uyghur). Originally named Xue Chaowu, with the first character as the surname. The ancestors migrated internally and settled on Huaimeng Road (with its capital in present-day Qinyang, Henan). Both ancestors and fathers were granted the title of Duke of Qin. The Han surname Ma, also known as Jiugao, is also referred to as Ma Angfu or Ma Jiugao. He once held the ceremony of a disciple under Liu Chenweng, a descendant of the Song Dynasty, and it can be inferred that he was born between the early Yuan Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty. He served as the magistrate of Jiangxi Province, and held various positions such as the official of Ruiyuan, the general manager of Taiping Road, and the general manager of Quzhou Road. In his later years, he resigned from his official position and retired to the area around Gaoting Mountain in Hangzhou. Skilled in seal script, with poetic titles, and in harmony with Sadura. There are currently 65 Xiaoling pieces and three sets of Sanqu.
Xue Angfu’s “Sai Hongqiu: Untitled” is a satirical song that reveals the hypocrisy and insincerity of people in the officialdom through vivid metaphors and comparisons.

Busy for far-flung fame as swallows in flight,
Culture hangs by a thread, none cares to be polite.
Time flies away as fast as flashing light,
Like frosted silk the hair on our forehead turns white.
All say it is good to retire,
But to be a hermit none has the desire.
Up to now only
The poet-hermit still feels lonely.

Like busy swallows people travel far for success and renown,
Like a fragile thread the ancient rights come down,
Like lightening, time, inch by inch, flies,
Like white girdles my temples are snowing to my surprise.
Often you hear people say they prefer to resign from their post,
But you seldom find hermits in secluded places most.
So far, alas, that lonely Tao the Prefect finds no companions as they boast.
