“Farewell to Zhao Zong at Night” is a five-character quatrain written by Tang Dynasty poet Yang Jiong. This is a farewell poem. At the beginning of the poem, Zhao Zong is compared to a priceless jade and a beautiful jade, which makes Zhao Zong’s style and talent concrete. The last two sentences are about the wall and the person, and the matter of sending Zhao Zong back to his old mansion. It is a double entendre. The wall is also sent back to the old mansion, but the person is hidden. The concluding sentence describes the scene of bidding farewell to Zhao Zong along the river in the moonlit night. It is full of the poet’s deep friendship for his close friend, points out the time of farewell, and vaguely expresses the wish for a safe journey. This poem cleverly uses allusions, is appropriate in metaphor, and has clear and understandable language and vivid and perceptible images. It is easy to understand, and the metaphors are easy to understand, and the description of the scenery is natural and appropriate.
