In 635 AD (the ninth year of the Zhenguan reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang), he greatly favored his important minister Yu Shinan and designated Yongxing County, which was then prosperous, as his fiefdom, earning him the nickname “Yu Yongxing”. In the eleventh year of the Zhenguan reign (637 AD), Yu Shinan spent the Spring Festival of the Dingyou year in Gaoling City (according to the “Hu Guang Fang Yu Ji Ji Ji · Hu Guang 76”: Gaoling City site, located at Shenhu Kou, Xuanhua Li, Changle Township, Yongxing County, now at Wu Dongchen, Panqiao Township, Taogang Town). On his spring night garden tour, Yu Shinan left behind the poem “Spring Night”.
公元635年（唐太宗贞观九年），唐太宗极为宠爱重臣虞世南，将当时富庶的永兴县划给虞世南作为封地，时有“虞永兴”之谓。贞观十一年（637年），虞世南在高陵城（据《湖广方舆纪要·湖广七十六》记：高陵城址，设在永兴县长乐乡宣化里深湖口，现陶港镇潘桥乡吴东陈处）过的丁酉年春节，在其春夜游园之际，虞世南留下了《春夜》一诗。
