Zhou Wenzhi (? -1334) was a literary figure of the Yuan Dynasty. Zi Zhongbin, born in Jiande (now part of Zhejiang), later lived in Hangzhou. Having been friends with Zhong Sicheng for more than 20 years, the two were deeply in love and inseparable. Therefore, the “Record of Ghosts” has a detailed record of him: “He had a clear appearance, profound knowledge, skilled craftsmanship, and novel writing style. He came from a Confucian family and served as a road official. He was skilled in painting, music, and harmony. He was known for his chivalrous nature, good at respecting guests, good at painting, and harmonious music. There are now four known types of mixed plays. Only” Su Wu Returns Home “(also known as” Su Wu Returns to the Court “) has residual music. There are forty-three small songs and five sets of scattered songs, many of which are about romantic love between men and women.

Zhou Wenzhi
At a fresh autumn night,
With an intoxication slight,
I recline against the balustrade alone in the moonlight,
Chanting a few lines that heart breakingly blight,
Yet they are not enough to vent my spite.
