The poem ‘Visiting Jinmen: Half Spring’ is a small poem written by the Southern Song Dynasty poet Zhu Shuzhen to express the sorrow of spring in her boudoir. The previous film depicts the mid spring season, with a breathtaking scenery that evokes deep sorrow. Although the twelve railings are scattered all over, they cannot dispel spring sorrows. In this beautiful spring scenery with gentle breeze and warm sun, the person in the boudoir thinks of the person they miss. They can’t help but feel melancholy and feel that they are not as good as birds in pairs. Therefore, they don’t want to see the courtyard full of fallen flowers and fragrant grass with broken intestines anymore. The whole article is filled with sadness, delicacy, and infinite sorrow.
Tune: At the Golden Gate
Mid-spring
Zhu Shuzhen
Half spring has passed,
The view awakes a sorrow vague and vast.
Unoccupied, I lean on all twelve balustrades,
But Heaven cares not if my sorrow fades.
Although the sun is warm and the breeze fair,
I envy orioles and swallows in pair.
When courtyard flowers fall, I won’t uproll the screen;
My heart would break when green grass can’t be seen.
