
Deng Yu, also known as Deng Qingyang, was born in Nanhai, Guangdong during the Ming Dynasty. He first became the Supervisor of the County of Qingyang, and later became a Taoist. Late hidden in Wudang Mountain. I don’t know where I’m going in Yongle. There is a poem called ‘Observing Objects’.

人生天地常如客,何独乡关定是家。
争似区区随所遇,年年处处看梅花。
We are but passing guests from who knows where.
Say not they home is here, thy home is there.
It suits me well wherever I may be;
The followers bloom here, there, and everywhere.
