Still life -- Sānxiá Hǎorén Still Life (Chinese: 三峡好人; pinyin: Sānxiá hǎorén; literally "Good people of the Three Gorges") is a 2006 Chinese film directed by Jia Zhangke. Shot in the old village of Fengjie, a small town on the Yangtze River which is slowly being destroyed by the building of the Three Gorges Dam, Still Life tells the story of two people in search of their spouses. Still Life is a co-production between the Shanghai Film Studio and Hong Kong-based Xstream Pictures. Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame《狄仁杰之通天帝国》 is a 2010 epic mystery film that is a fictional account of Di Renjie, one of the most celebrated officials of the Tang Dynasty. A co-production between China and Hong Kong, the film was directed by Tsui Hark（徐克Xú kè） from a screenplay written by Chen Kuofu. The film stars Andy Lau(刘德华Liú déhuá) as the lead role, and features art direction and fight choreography by Sammo Hung. The film's supporting cast includes Carina Lau（刘嘉玲Liú jiālíng）, Li Bingbing（李冰冰Lǐ bīngbīng）, Deng Chao（邓超dèng chāo） and Tony Leung Ka-fai（梁家辉Liáng jiāhuī）. Principal photography for Detective Dee began in May 2009; the film was shot at Hengdian World Studios in Zhejiang, China. Detective Dee was released in China on 29 September 2010 and in Hong Kong on 30 September 2010. Painted Skin -- Huàpí Painted Skin is a 2008 supernatural fantasy film directed by Gordon Chan, starring Donnie Yen, Chen Kun, Zhou Xun, Zhao Wei, Betty Sun and Qi Yuwu. Director: Gordon Chan Although the film is based partly on a supernatural premise, it is more of an action-romance than a horror film. Painted Skin is based, very loosely, on one of Pu Songling's classic short stories in Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio. The theme song of the film, Huà Xīn (畫心; Painted Heart), was performed by Jane Zhang. In 2011, Gordon Chan announced that a sequel, Painted Skin 2, will be produced. Cape No. 7 -- Hǎijiǎo Qī Hào Cape No. 7 (Chinese: 海角七号; pinyin: Hǎijiǎo Qī Hào) is a 2008 Taiwanese romance comedic music-drama film written and directed by Wei Te-Sheng, his first full-length motion picture. The film is in Taiwanese and Mandarin Chinese with significant lines in Japanese. Before its commercial release, the film was world premiered on June 20, 2008 at the 2008 Taipei Film Festival as the opening film. The film later won 3 awards in this festival. Director: Wei Te-Sheng Prior to this film, the two leading actors Van Fan and Chie Tanaka only had minor acting experience while some of the supporting roles were filled by non-actors. Even without a strong promotional campaign, the film had become so popular in Taiwan that on November 1, 2008 it became the 2nd top grossing film in the country's cinematic history, behind JAMES CAMERON's Titanic.
