厌攀杨柳临清阁，
闲采芙蕖[1]傍碧潭。
走马台[2]边人不见，
拂云堆[3]畔战初酣。
注释：
[1] 芙蕖（fú qú）：荷花，又称莲花、芙蓉。
[2] 走马台：走马章台，又称章台。汉代长安章台下有街名走马章台街，《汉书·张敞传》：“然敞无威仪，时罢朝会，过走马章台街，使御史驱，自以便面拊马。又为妇画眉，长安中传张京兆眉抚。”
[3] 拂云堆：地名，在朔方，本诗中代指征战之地。

When tired of breaking willow branch before my bower,
I pluck at leisure by poolside the lotus flower.
I cannot find your face when I ride on my horse,
But hear the cloud echo war cries of combat force.
The poet in garrison on the frontier longs for his wife far away at home.
