“Hearing that Yue Tian was appointed as Sima of Jiangzhou” is a seven-character quatrain written by Yuan Zhen, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. This poem was written after the author learned that Bai Juyi was demoted. This poem uses scenery to set off emotions, uses scenery to express emotions, and narrates and expresses emotions, showing the author’s deep love for Bai Juyi. The whole poem expresses the author’s extreme shock and sadness after knowing that his friend was demoted.
