Today, I will introduce a Chinese animated feature produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio which called Little Tadpoles who look for Mummy (小蝌蚪找妈妈Xiǎo Kēdǒu zhǎo Māmā ). So let us have a brief introduction. Plot In spring, many little tadpoles swim to and fro in the water. Seeing a group of chickens embracing their mother affectionately on the bank, they begin to look for their own mother. With the help of an "uncle shrimp", goldfish, crab and turtle, they finally find a frog -- their beloved mother. This ink painting animation which is only 14 minutes long is well known all over the world as the Chinese unique ink painting is for the first time used in the single-line brush animation. Nearly every scene is a beautiful ink painting. Although it is short but it has a profounding meaning. It also has achieved many awords, for example, the 14th Locarno International Film Festival YiFan award.

Based on Iris Chang's book The Rape of Nanking（南京大屠杀 Nānjīng dà túshā）, this film-length documentary relates the terrible events that lasted for six weeks from December 13, 1937, following the entry of the Imperial Japanese Army into Nanjing（南京 Nánjīng）, the Chinese capital of the time. Making full use of film evidence, historical documents such as journals and letters (narrated by actors), as well as the eyewitness testimony of survivors, this sober, responsible, yet inevitably shocking work describes an atrocity whose sheer magnitude ensures its reverberation down to the present day. Even those already acquainted with the grim facts can expect to be profoundly affected by this multifaceted portrait of abysmal horror. The documentary nevertheless makes a brave attempt to inject an element of Schindler's List-style redemption into the midst of mass-murder, rape and torture, by detailing the especially well-documented feat of Western residents who – not yet at war with Japan – were able to establish a limited "safety zone" within which 200,000 Chinese civilians took refuge. A disturbing epilogue confirms the persistence of a fundamental mismatch between Chinese and Japanese perceptions of the massacre. Princess Iron Fan is the first Chinese animated feature film. The existence of this film itself is more meaningful than its content for Chines. It was directed in Shanghai under difficult conditions in the thick of World War II and was released on January 1, 1941. Plot The story was liberally adapted from a short sequence in the popular Chinese folk tale Journey to the West (西游记Xīyóujì). Princess Iron Fan is a main character. Specifically, the film focused on the duel between the Monkey King and a vengeful princess, whose fan is desperately needed to quench the flames that surround a peasant village. Background The Wan family twins Wan Laiming (万籁鸣Wàn Làimíng) and Wan Guchan (万古蟾Wàn Gǔchán) with their brothers Wan Chaochen and Wan Dihuan were the first animators in China. After the release of their first "real" cartoon, Uproar in the Heaven (大闹天宫Dà nào Tiāngōng), they continued to dominate China's animation industry for the next several decades. China has a proud history of filmmaking. The first Chinese film was made in 1905, ten years after the birth of film in France. In the next two decades, Chinese films started to boom. In the 1920s, Chinese big cities saw hundreds of film production companies established. Port city Shanghai played a crucial role. It was home to more than 140 production companies. It was also the birth place of China's first feature drama. In the 1930s and 40s, China gradually plummeted into decades of political turmoil as the country was involved in perennial wars which devastated its people. But Chinese cinema did not stop growing. Filmmakers turned their eyes to the cruel realities and started to make pictures with strong social commentaries. Shanghai remained the creative center at that time. Some of the all-time classics of Chinese cinema were made by Shanghai-based companies during that period, like "Crossroads" (1937), "Angels on the Road" (1937) and "A Spring River Flows East" (1947).
