Today, I will introduce a Chinese film which called A Mongolian Tale (黑駿馬hēi jùnmǎ). So let us have a brief introduction. A Mongolian Tale (黑駿馬Hēi jùn mǎ) is a 1995 Chinese film directed by Xie Fei (谢飞Xiè Fēi ) and adapted by the novelist and ethnographer Zhang Chengzhi (张承志Zhāng Chéngzhì ） from his novel, Plot A Mongolian Tale tells the story of two childhood sweethearts from their youth into their adulthood as set on the Mongolian steppes. Nai Nai (奶奶Nai Nai), an old Mongolian woman is living with her orphaned granddaughter, Someyer, when she accepts into her home a boy, Beiyinpalica, whose mother has died and father cannot care for. Though raised as a brother and sister, Somiya and Beiyinpalica grow close. As Beiyinpalica (now played by the Mongolian pop singer Tengger) is about to enter adulthood, his father suddenly writes and orders him into the city to study veterinary science. He leaves but promises Someyer that he will marry her when he returns. While in the city, Beiyinpalica also becomes a student of music. When he returns three years later, he discovers that Someyer (now played by Naranhua) has become pregnant by another man. Heartbroken, he leaves once more. “Yellow” and “Red” are larvae that live in an old house standing among skyscrapers. To them, humans’ cheap food and old household items are culinary experiences and amazing toys. They fight against each other, trying to take possession of things humans left behind while being chased by pets like a puppy or a parrot. Today, I will introduce a Chinese animated feature produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio which called The Proud General (骄傲的将军Jiāo'ào de Jiāngjūn) So let us have a brief introduction. Plot After a victorious military campaign, a general returns home to glory and prosperity. The king rewards him and claims that all enemies will be intimidated by the general. From then on, the general no longer practices martial arts. He eats, drinks, lives the glamorous life, and doesn't bother anymore with sharpening his weapons. When the enemy one day returns, his own arrogance leads to his defeat and eventually to the downfall of the whole nation. Production The film was heavily influenced by Disney from the perspective of character design, movement and storytelling point of view. The music is derived from the Beijing Opera. The clothing, architecture, and props do have a strong sense of Chinese cultural influence. It was one of the first films to use the art of water ink painting in a lengthy production. This film also tell us that an army which is cocksure about its invincibility is doomed to defeat. So we must keep in mind, as an proverb said, "to win without pride ".

Zhou Xuan (周璇 Zhōu Xuán ) was a popular Chinese singer for her golden voice, and a film actress in the early 20th century. By the 1940s, she had become one of the Seven great singing stars. She is probably the most well-known of the seven, as she had a concurrent movie career until 1953. Biography Zhou was born Su Pu (苏璞 Sū Pú), but was separated from her natural parents at a young age and raised by adoptive parents. She spent her entire life searching for her biological parents but her parentage was never established until after her death. At the age of 13 she took Zhou Xuan as her stage name, 'Xuan', which means beautiful jade in Chinese.   Zhou started acting in 1935, but she achieved stardom in 1937 in Street Angel (街角天使 jiējiǎo tiānshǐ) , when director Yuan Muzhi cast her as one of the leads as a singing girl. "Golden Voice" was Zhou's nickname to commend her singing talents after a singing competition in Shanghai, where she came in second. "The Golden Monkey Defeats a Demon", also referred as "The Monkey King Conquers the Demon", is adapted from chapters of the Chinese classics "Journey to the West," or "Monkey" in the Western world. The five-episode animation series tells the story of Monkey King Sun Wukong, who followed Monk Xuan Zang's trip to the West to take the Buddhistic sutra. They met a white bone evil, and the evil transformed human appearances three times to seduce the monk. Twice Monkey King recognized it and brought it down. The monk was unable to recognize the monster and expelled Sun Wukong. Xuan Zang was then captured by the monster. Fortunately Bajie, another apprentice of Xuan Zang, escaped and persuaded the Monkey King to come rescue the monk. Finally, Sun kills the evil and saves Xuan Zang. The outstanding animation has received a variety of awards, including the 6th Hundred Flowers Festival Award and the Chicago International Children's Film Festival Award in 1989.
