The Monkey King Conquers the Demon is adapted from chapters of the Chinese classics Journey to the West (西游记, Xīyóujì). The five-episode animation series tells the story of Monkey King Sun Wukong (孙悟空, Sūn Wùkōng), who followed Monk Xuan Zang's (玄奘, Xuánzàng ) trip to the West to take the Buddhistic sutra. They met a white bone evil (白骨精, báigǔ jīng) and the evil transformed human appearances three times to Sūn Wùkōng seduce the monk. Twice Monkey King recognized it and brought it down. The monk was unable to recognize the monster and expelled Sun Wukong. Xuan Zang was then captured by the monster. Fortunately Bajie (八戒, bājiè ) , another apprentice of Xuan Zang, escaped and persuaded the Monkey King to come rescue the monk. Finally, Sun kills the evil and saves Xuan Zang. Betty Loh Ti (乐蒂 Lè Dì), was born on 24 July, 1937. She was a Chinese actress who was often described as the "Classic Beauty". In the 1960s, she was popular among both Chinese and Western filmgoers. She died on 27 December, 1968, at the age of 31. Biography Born in Shanghai, Chinese as Xi Zhongyi(奚重仪 Xī Zhòngyí), Betty was raised by her maternal grandmother following her parents' death. With her family, she left Shanghai in 1949 and settled in Hong Kong. Betty started her career in the film industry in 1952 and played in 44 films until her death in 1968. The first month of summer morning, in the south field, a naive lively shepherd boy rides the water buffalo to browse. Ruan Lingyu (阮玲玉 Ruǎn Língyù) was born on April 26, 1910. She was a silent-film actress still remembered by many, left behind 29 films and the final message, "gossip can kill," when she committed suicide in Shanghai on March 8, 1935.
