An aged Wu Qingyuan（吴清源 Wú Qíngyuán）, the real-life protagonist of this movie, is pictured at the beginning of the film with his Japanese wife, Kazuko. At the age of 14 Wu moved to Japan where he embarked upon a professional career as a Go player（围棋国手 Wéiqí guóshǒu） and soon became the game's most lauded star. Even in the most turbulent years of the Sino-Japanese War（抗日战争 Kàngrì Zhànzhēng）, Wu declined to take sides since his loyalty lay with the game, which he regarded as his true faith. In 1955, Wu had to stop playing after a motorcycle accident but, as the film shows, he never lost his passion for the game. However, despite the onscreen efforts of Taiwanese actor Chang Chen（张震 Zhāng Zhèn）, the movie never really finds its rhythm. Literature guru Ah Cheng's screenplay is too restrained and many of the set pieces, which involve chess, are uninspiring – anyone unfamiliar with the game, or who has never heard of Wu, will find the movie difficult to follow. "Secrets of the Heavenly Book", also referred to as "Legend of the Sealed Book" or "Tales about the Heavenly Book", was released in 1983. The film was produced with rigorous dubbing and fluid combination of music and vivid animations. The story is based on the classic literature "Ping Yao Zhuan", meaning "The Suppression of the Demons" by Feng Menglong. Yuangong, the deacon, opened the shrine and exposed the holy book to the human world. He carved the book's contents on the stone wall of a white cloud cave in the mountains. He was then punished with guarding the book for life by the jade emperor for breaking heaven's law and betraying the holy secret to human. In order to pass this holy book to human beings, he would have to get by the antagonist fox. The whole animation is characterized by charming Chinese painting, including pavilions, ancient architecture, rippling streams and crowded markets, which fully demonstrate the unique beauty of China's natural scenery.

Ruan Lingyu (阮玲玉 Ruǎn Língyù) was born on April 26, 1910. She was a silent-film actress still remembered by many, left behind 29 films and the final message, "gossip can kill," when she committed suicide in Shanghai on March 8, 1935. As one of the most prominent Chinese film stars of the 1930s, her tragic death at the age of 24 led her to become an icon of Chinese cinema.  Ruan Lingyu was China's first film actress to win extensive praise from the public. Her appearance marked the turning point when Chinese cinema rid itself of the fetters of the stylized performances typical of contemporary dramas and took to the road of realistic performance. Ruan LingYu was discovered by director Bu Wancang from Star Film Company and starred in her first film Husband and Wife in Name (1926). The film was a mild success and she starred several films for Star in the next few years. Today, I will introduce a Chinese animated feature produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio which called Taoist of the Mountain Lao (崂山道士Láoshān Dàoshì ). So let us have a brief introduction. The production was finished in 1981, and in 2006 the film was voted as one of the most popular domestic animations. Numerous novels and publications have been released under the same name in the past. The story, characters and contents are based on the ancient Chinese folklore story collection Strange Stories (鬼神故事guǐshén gùshì ) from a Chinese Studio. Story A long time ago, there was a young man called Wang Qi. When he heard that there were many immortals in Lao Mountain, he went there at once. There was a Taoist who still looked young although he was very old. Wang Qi became one of his pupils. During the first month, Wang Qi went to the hills for woods with others every day and listened to the instructions of his teacher patiently. In the second month, he felt that he could not stand the hard and tiring life, but he still waited for the teacher to teach him the magical skills. Today let's take a brief introduction of a famous Chinese movie named "Dream of the Red Chamber".The Yue Opera film Dream of the Red Chamber(1962) was based on the main plot of classical Chinese novel Dream of the Red Chamber by Cao Xueqin. This film co-starred renowned Yue Opera performing artists Wang Wenjuan and Xu Yulan. Film artist Zhu Shilin acted as the art director, and Zhong Min and Wu Chen as stage directors. During the ten years between 1978 and 1988, the film adopted over 12 billion audience. It is also the film most screened, copied and watched in Chinese history. The story begins with the mother-less child, Lin Daiyu - whose beauty and intelligence surpasses all - moving into her grandmother's family, the Jia Family, in the capital.
