Near the Purple Pavilion Dwells the Daoist Scholar Dong Lin, He Bestows Upon Me Some Pine Tree Pollen Pills, Looking at Them With Joy, Mere Mortals Covered With the Dust of the World Cannot Take Them, I Offer This Poem to You As a Proxy For Enlightenment

朝 思 俗 侣 寄 将 归。
道 场 斋 戒 今 初 服
人 事 荤 膻 已 觉 非。

腰 间 铜 印 与 心 违。

Bluish-green canyons with green pine trees possessing their five-part, pollen-laden twigs
One can collect the pollen only with approaching clouds and dew moistened clothes
In the evening a group of immortals gather to make their deity medicine
At dawn I think that some of my ground-based companions could use
some of these pills too.
A Daoist vegetarian regimen and preparations before taking the first pill
Already cannot feel the weight of human affairs and the smells of mutton and fish.
One gaze into the distance, mountain mists around peaks, I send this appreciation to you
Carrying a government issued copper seal goes against my heart-mind.
