June is a journalist approaching her 30th birthday who lives with her boyfriend Doudou, a young musician who doesn't have a stable job. When her father comes to visit her from her hometown, June feels as if her personal life has been intruded upon. Her father, not satisfied with her younger boyfriend, takes it upon himself to find her a new boyfriend. And so he heads to the park every day to meet like-minded elderly people, who have similar concerns for their children. Painted Skin -- Huàpí Painted Skin is a 2008 supernatural fantasy film directed by Gordon Chan, starring Donnie Yen, Chen Kun, Zhou Xun, Zhao Wei, Betty Sun and Qi Yuwu. Director: Gordon Chan Although the film is based partly on a supernatural premise, it is more of an action-romance than a horror film. Painted Skin is based, very loosely, on one of Pu Songling's classic short stories in Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio. The theme song of the film, Huà Xīn (畫心; Painted Heart), was performed by Jane Zhang. In 2011, Gordon Chan announced that a sequel, Painted Skin 2, will be produced. Bai Yang (白杨 Bái Yáng, 1920-1997) was a woman with oriental charm. She made a name for herself when she played the leading role in the 1936 film Crossroads. In the film, Bai performed alongside Zhao Dan (赵丹 Zhào Dān) in her portrayal of Yang Zhiying (杨芝瑛 Yáng Zhīyīng), a young instructor at a cotton mill from a bourgeois family. In the 1940s, Bai starred in Clouds and Moon over 8,000 Li of Roads and The Spring River Flows East. In The Spring River, Bai played the heroine, Li Sufen, a woman of a dignified demeanor, sincere and rich inner feelings and a traditional Chinese sense of womanhood and responsibility. Her performance was well received by audiences. Bai continued performing until the '60s in such films as For the Sake of Peace, New Year's Sacrifice, Jin Yuji, Dongmei, and others. She reached the highest level of her performing ability as Mrs. Xianglin in the 1956 film New Year's Sacrifice. In her late years, Bai developed a graceful and natural, yet distinct style. Cape No. 7 -- Hǎijiǎo Qī Hào Cape No. 7 (Chinese: 海角七号; pinyin: Hǎijiǎo Qī Hào) is a 2008 Taiwanese romance comedic music-drama film written and directed by Wei Te-Sheng, his first full-length motion picture. The film is in Taiwanese and Mandarin Chinese with significant lines in Japanese. Before its commercial release, the film was world premiered on June 20, 2008 at the 2008 Taipei Film Festival as the opening film. The film later won 3 awards in this festival. Director: Wei Te-Sheng Prior to this film, the two leading actors Van Fan and Chie Tanaka only had minor acting experience while some of the supporting roles were filled by non-actors. Even without a strong promotional campaign, the film had become so popular in Taiwan that on November 1, 2008 it became the 2nd top grossing film in the country's cinematic history, behind JAMES CAMERON's Titanic.
