到了建安九年的时候，曹操攻破了邺城，曹操的儿子曹丕干了件什么事呢？就是把袁绍的儿子袁熙的妻子甄氏收编了。孔融就写了封信给曹操，说当年周武王攻下殷都的时候，把妲己给了周公。曹操说，这没这个事啊，就回去翻书，翻来翻去翻不到，就写封信问孔融，典故在哪儿啊？历史上哪儿的记载啊？孔融说“以今度古，想其当然耳”，就是按照我们今天的事情推论，应该是那样的。曹操这才明白是讽刺他，所以曹操这个人也是很奇怪，你说那么狡诈的人他都看不出这是讽刺。反正是找着个机会他就要把曹操挖苦讽刺一顿，曹操也都忍气吞声，都吞了下来，因为这个孔融是孔子的第二十世孙，出身名门，来头大，名气大，不能随便杀的。
