第二个，诸葛亮有一个关系网。诸葛亮的岳母是襄阳地区最大的豪族蔡讽的女儿，蔡讽两个女儿、一个儿子，这两个女儿一个嫁给了诸葛亮的岳父，一个嫁给了荆州牧刘表，他这个儿子叫蔡瑁，也是权重一时的人。也就是说荆州地区最高行政长官是诸葛亮妻子的姨父，荆州地区重要的官员是诸葛亮妻子的舅舅，所以这个关系网是很了不得的。而这件事情又有一段佳话，诸葛亮的岳父叫黄承彦，这个人非常欣赏诸葛亮，有一天他就去找诸葛亮跟他说，孩子啊，我有一个女儿长得很丑，但是非常有才华，你愿意娶她吗？诸葛亮说愿意啊，黄承彦马上回家就把他女儿装到车上送诸葛亮家里去了。这个事情它也有不同的说法，一种说法认为说黄承彦的女儿不丑，黄承彦说家有丑女是谦词，中国人嘛，比方说儿子叫犬子，女儿就叫丑女，你不能当真啊，我家有犬子，说你儿子狗儿子啊，不能当这个真；另一种说法就说是考验一下诸葛亮，看你是重才重德还是重色，诸葛亮经受了考验，重德重才，还是娶了一个漂亮女孩回去了。但是我认为黄承彦的女儿恐怕是丑的，为什么呢？黄承彦是这样说的，他说：“身有丑女，黄头黑色，才堪匹配”，12个字，如果是谦词的话他不会说得这么具体，黄毛丫头，脸皮黑黑的，他不会说这么具体，这是一个证据；第二个证据就是当时这个事情在荆州地区、襄阳地区传为笑谈，最后老百姓还编了两句民谚，叫做“莫作孔明择妇，正得阿承丑女”，就说挑老婆可别学诸葛亮，黄阿承他家那个嫁不出去的丑丫头被他娶回去了，所以看来是个丑丫头。

And there is another beautiful story about this matter. Zhuge Liang’s father-in-law is Huang Chengyan. This person appreciates Zhuge Liang very much. One day, he went to Zhuge Liang and said to him, “My child, I have a daughter who is very ugly, but very talented. Would you like to marry her?”? Zhuge Liang said yes, but Huang Chengyan immediately went home and loaded his daughter into a car to take Zhuge Liang home. There are also different views on this matter. One view is that saying that Huang Chengyan’s daughter is not ugly, while Huang Chengyan’s saying that there are ugly girls in his family is a humble word. Chinese people, for example, say that his son is called a dog, and his daughter is called an ugly girl. You can’t take it seriously. We know that Liu Bei knew Zhuge Liang, who was introduced to Liu Bei by the Jingxiang Scholar Group. Xu Shu, Sima Hui, Pang Degong, and others had done propaganda and promotion work, so the conditions for Zhuge Liang to enter politics were very good.
